Latest report from Spain indicates Arsenal are on the verge of completing yet another signing weeks after completing the signing of Granit Xhaka from Borussia Dortmund. According to the reports, Barcelona are ready to cut their losses and sell £29m flop Arda Turan for £23m six months after he made his debut.
With some reports claiming Arsenal have had a bid Arsenal for the player and are only waiting to agree personal terms. The Turkish International is currently considered surplus requirements at the Nou Camp with the arrival of Denis Suarez from Villarreal.
Turan who currently has 4 years left on his contract and yet to make any impact since joining Barcelona has attracted interest from long term admirer Arsenal and host of other European clubs like German giants Borussia Dortmund as well as Turkish sides Fenerbahce and Galatasaray who would be looking forward to bring Turan home.
Turan missed the first half of his debut season due to a FIFA transfer ban imposed on Barcelona, but he was able to make 25 cameo appearances since the turn of the year. Luis Enrique did use Turan throughout the entire second half of the season but he was never given a starting role in key games over the course of the second half of the season.
Turan has literally won every single domestic title in Spain and Turkey as well as all European competitions trophies except the Champions. Turan is a winner and has a champion’s mentality and this is the kind of energy lacking in the current Arsenal dressing room. He would be a great addition to Arsenal’s side and can help them end their Premier league title drought.
