Although it hasn’t been so widely reported, insider reports claim there is a real chance that Aaron Ramsey could leave Arsenal this summer. And to this end, Arsenal are already working on bringing in a replacement. According to reports, Blaise Matuidi who has been heavily linked with Manchester United and Chelsea seems to be heading to Arsenal. Reports from France have it that Arsenal have had a bid accepted by PSG for the player.
Other reports from France also claim that Matuidi is eager to play in England – but will only consider offers from the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham and that the Frenchman is yet to make a decision. It is believed that with PSG’s capture of Grzegorz Krychowiak from Sevilla last weekend, this will pave the way for Matuidi to make his dream move to the EPL as he’s seen as surplus requirements in new manager Unai Emery’s plans for next season.
There were reports earlier in the week that Matuidi had been granted permission to leave the French Euro 2016 training camp to fly to England to hold transfer talks with Manchester United over a potential move to Old Trafford. However, United are yet to put a formal offer on the table and Matuidi is open to the idea of joining any of the top Premier League sides, including Arsenal.
The French 29-year-old midfielder who is currently valued at £22m is currently waiting to see what offers come from England. Considering his quality as a player, the style of play he brings to the team, his nationality and current valuation he seems to fit the bill for the kind of player Wenger would like to bring to the Emirates.
