With reports constantly linking Ramsey to Manchester City, it is not a surprise that Arsenal is still been linked with the signing of centre midfielders. But according to latest reports, Arsenal could miss out on top target N’Golo Kante. Kante enjoyed an amazing debut season with Leicester, playing a major role in guiding the Foxes to winning their first ever major trophy.
The 25-year-old France midfielder is being heavily linked with a move to Arsenal with Manchester United and Chelsea also keen on his signature. Kante currently has a £20m release clause in his contract at Leicester and it is believed interested clubs are allowed to bid higher than the release clause and Leicester have the right to accept the highest bid only. Arsenal’s manager Arsenal Wenger is a big fan of the player and would love to bring him to the Emirates should the opportunity present itself.
Leicester are no strangers to retaining one of their star men after fighting tooth and nail to persuade Jamie Vardy not to sign for Arsenal earlier this summer. The ex-Caen midfielder currently has three years remaining on his current deal with the Foxes but is said to prefer a move to West London side Chelsea.
Leicester’s stands to make a huge profit on Kante should they sell to any of the interested clubs would be nothing short of spectacular, considering the fact they paid just £5.6m to lure the dynamic player to England.
