£42m BID ACCEPTED, Arsenal Set To Sign German – Not Draxler

Various reports have so far in the last one month linked Arsenal with the signing of various wingers as replacement for Theo Walcott. A new name has however entered the list of likely signings.

Reports from the German publication Sport Bild claimed the Sky Blues are ready to pay the £42millon in bringing the Leroy Sane to England this summer. But Arsenal are hoping they can hijack the deal despite the fact that the Citizens having had a bid accepted for the young German.

The report from the German also claim there are top clubs such as the likes of Paris St-Germain, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich will fight the Premier League clubs to sign the Germany international. The player himself however prefers to move to England which leaves both Arsenal and City to fight it out.

Schalke’s new sporting executive, Christian Heidel, has told Sport Bild that the German superstar will not be disturbed while at international duties for Germany at the Euros and instead he should focus on the tournament, but the club will want a swift response upon his return.

He said, “Leroy Sane has to make a fundamental decision regarding his future after the Euro,” He added that, “FC Schalke 04 needs a certain planning security.”

Heidel who has just been appointed as the new sporting director for Schalke, said the club will not allow a repeat of last summer, when Draxler left the club and moved to Wolfsburg on the final day of the window.

“There will not be a second Julian Draxler case,” Heidel said.

It was reported last month that Man City were at a close point in completing the deal for the winger, and the report from the German outlet said they are are prepared to bid over €50 million.
