Watford have agreed a £5million fee with Arsenal for defender Kieran Gibbs as the former England international looks for first-team football.

The left-back is well down the pecking order at the Emirates after falling out of favour in London and is almost certain to have his time in the team limited.

That has lead the player into looking at other opportunities and Watford are willing to give the player another chance at the top level in England.

The fee that has been agreed is certainly nominal, but for a player who is not likely to get any chances this season, it can only be good for Arsenal.

For Watford, they will be getting a very experienced defender in Gibbs who has been in the top flight for several years and getting him cheap.

While Arsenal fans will no doubt not be fussed with Kieran Gibbs leaving the club, they will be with this star player leaving.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to leave the club after rejected a £180,000-a-week contract at the Gunners.

There are a number of clubs lined up for his services with Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City all looking to sign the Englishman.

Though, it still will not come cheap with Arsenal looking to cash in as much as they can.
