According to news emanating from British media, Premier League club Sunderland have emerged as a shock candidates to secure the services of Arsenal full-back Carl Jenkinson this summer transfer window.
Jenkinson, 24, whose future at the North London club is uncertain is considering his Arsenal future having spent the past two seasons out on loan at London rivals West Ham United.
The 24 years old full back is currently the Arsenal’s fourth-choice right-back behind first gteam regular’s likes of Hector Bellerin, Calum Chambers and Mathieu Debuchy.
According to reports, sources reveal the Sunderland coach Sam Allardyce is set to table a formal offer for the Charlton Athletic academy graduate having lost hopes of signing Tottenham Hotspurs DeAndre Yedlin.
DeAndre Yedlin impressed immensely during his temporary spell at Wearside last season, and this looks to have made Tottenham to keep hold of their young asset.
The defender according to reports will likely to be available in the £6m range this summer transfer window.
It is believed that the Gunners have no intention of selling him in any case, and a loan move would suit all parties.
