London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea are about to be involved in another transfer activity not for a player this time, but for goalkeeper coach Christophe Lollichon. Arsenal is set to reignite their interest in the controversial goalkeeper coach as incoming coach, Antonio Conte is to bring in his own backroom staff which includes a goalkeeper coach.
Christophe Lollichon played a major role in the signing of Peter Cech recommending the now Arsenal shot-stopper to Chelsea in 2003. Christophe Lollichon enjoyed a wonderful relationship with the then Chelsea shot-stopper but is said to have fallen out with current Chelsea ace shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois in the past. His strained relationship with Thibaut Courtois seems to have sealed his fate.
Thibaut Courtois who was reintroduced into the Chelsea first team to compete with Peter Cech struggled for form last season after impressing in 2014/15, and Chelsea are desperate to see him fulfill his potential rather than sell him.
Christophe Lollichon has been in the Chelsea backroom since 2007 and his good working relationship with Peter Cech could play a major role in Arsenal wanting to bring him to the Emirates to reunite with the Arsenal number one shot stopper. If this move pulls through Lollichon could be working alongside the Gunners’ current first team goalkeeping coach, Gerry Peyton, who has been at the club for 13 years.
Antoni Conte, is believed to want to bring in Gianluca Spinelli, who worked with him in the Italian national setup backroom to replace Christophe Lollichon.
