According to several reports from Europe Outlets, Arsenal had a bid worth €7m for Oguzhan Ozyakup rebuffed by Turkish Giants Besiktas in January.
As the Gunners and Arsene Wenger looked for reinforcements in midfield, they targeted Besiktas’ Turkish international Ozyakup, who has a short stint at Arsenal previously.
However, the bid which was worth €7m was rejected by Besiktas, as they want him to sign a new contract at the Turkish club, to the frustration of Arsenal fans, as they have lost their temper with Granit Xhaka due to many bad performances recently.
Besiktas believe that Besiktas star performances have dropped recently due to the Arsenal bid and the prospect of playing alongside Mesut Ozil, which was something that Wenger was looking to do if they were to sign the Turk.
Ozyakup has appeared for the Turkish side 207 times, scoring 27 goals and grabbing 46 assists. He has also made 32 caps for Turkey, scoring one goal in the process
