It appears Arsenal are really interested in signing a new midfielder following the injury picked up by Aaron Ramsey during the game against Liverpool.
The Gunners are looking to bolster their injury-ravaged squad – especially in defence and midfield – before the end of the transfer window and, this made them offer Juventus €16m to secure the services of midfielder Mario Lemina. However, the bid was knocked back.
Arsenal are now ready to up their offer of €16m, claims The Sun, and have offered The Old Lady €19m [which is still short of their €23m valuation] to sign Lemina. Juventus only signed the Gabonese midfielder on a permanent deal in the current transfer window for €9.5m.
The hotly-tipped midfielder made 10 appearances in the Italian Serie A last term [on loan from Olympique Marseille] and with Miralem Pjanic arriving from Juventus Serie A rivals Roma this summer, Lemina could fall further down the pecking order. Hence, a move to Arsenal will benefit him.
Lemina’s style of play will suit Arsenal and the London club, too, will be glad to have the player – who is armed with a good passing ability.
It is left to be seen if Juventus will accept Arsenal’s latest bid for Lemina.
