With Arsenal having signed Granit Xhaka and Takuma Asano from Asia, Arsenal are still very much active in the transfer market. We are reportedly still in the market for a striker and a centre back. However, with Premier league clubs only able to register 25 players who are not home grown, Arsenal must get rid of some players in order to bring in others.
To this end, according to reports in Italy, Arsenal are on the verge of completing the transfer of Wojciech Szczesny for another one year loan deal. But interestingly, the Italians will this time have an option to buy the Poland international. This indicates that Wenger does not see a future for the player at Arsenal and is open to get rid of him.
Roma will have an option of making the deal a permanent one for £15million which is quite good considering goalkeepers don’t always cost much. As part of the deal, AS Roma will reportedly pay Szczesny’s full wages unlike the last time when both Arsenal and the Italian splitted the player’s wages.
With Szczesny off, it means Arsenal are now very likely to keep David Ospina who himself has been linked with a move to Turkish.
