Arsenal will in a couple of days time announce the signing of a centre back according to reports in the English press. The Gunners have been linked with the signing of various defenders in the last couple of weeks but if you believe the reports in the British press today, the Gunners have had a bid accepted by Bolton Wanderers for the signature of their highly rated centre back Rob Holding.
Holding was linked with Arsenal last summer but nothing came out of the reports. It was reported last summer that Arsenal had tabled a bid of £750,000 for the player which Bolton rejected. The player has also been linked with moves to Tottenham ( whose scout work seems to be scanning the pages of newspapers to see the players Arsenal are interested in and thn moving for them ), Chelsea and Everton.
Earlier last month it was also reported that Arsenal have had yet another bid of £1.5 million rejected for the player. The Gunners however never gave up and the new bid which is reported to be closer to £3 million has now been accepted and the player will in a matter of days have his medical and if successful, will be announced as an Arsenal player.
The signing of Rob Holding will however have an impact on Calum Chambers. Chambers has already been linked with a loan move away from Arsenal and if Holding is joining truly, it means Holding will be retained in the team while Chambers goes away to get experience.
