It looks like Arsenal got really lucky not signing Alexandre Lacazette, according to their fans.
Besides, one question making the rounds in the media is whether Arsenal will make any last minute panic buy before the transfer window is slammed shut on Wednesday. There is no smoke without a fire, as the saying goes.
The media seemingly took their inspirations from the rumours that filtered out on Sunday that Arsenal are interested in Lanus midfielder, Miguel Almirón.
Meanwhile, most of the Gunners fan base have been agitating for Arséne Wenger to sign prolific Lyon hitman, Alexandre Lacazette all summer. The calls intensified, following the Frenchman’s brilliant start to the campaign, bagging six goals in his side’s first three matches in Ligue 1. Unfortunately, Lacazette sustained a knee injury in Lyon’s 4-2 away defeat to newly promoted Dijon last weekend.
Lacazette has since been withdrawn from the France squad that will face Italy and Belarus in the qualifiers. The 25-year old will not sign for Arsenal this summer, it’s clear.
However, the news of Lacazette’s injury has prompted reactions from Arsenal supporters on social media. Here are their tweets below:
Not AKB/WOB just AFC [@bajankris] tweeted: “Lacazette has knee injury and now Lyon scrambling for a striker. We can return their nonsense by selling them Sanogo for £60million 😅😅😅😂😄😄😂.
FK2 [fkhanage] tweeted: “I see Lacazette could be out for as long as 3 months. Now is the time for Wenger to get on the phone to Aulas and offer him Sanogo for £60m.”
Mö [SenpaiSyed] tweeted: “Lacazette out for 3 months, big bullet avoided by Arsenal.”
Othman [O2aijri] tweeted: “Arsenal interest in Lacazette was enough to give him a 3 month injury.”
