Arsenal are still busy trying to complete deals in the transfer market before August 31st. While Arséne Wenger has claimed he is not expecting any arrivals at the club following Lucas Perez and Shkodran Mustafi’s transfers.
With a new defender [Mustafi] coming in, the Gunners could see the departure of another defender in Mathieu Debuchy before the window is slammed shut.
Debuchy has been on the peripheral at Arsenal, after Hector Bellerin displaced him to clinch the position of first-choice right-back in Wenger’s team and now, he has informed the 66-year old boss he wants to leave.
The experienced French defender was signed from Newcastle in the summer of 2014, following the exit of Bacary Sagna to Manchester City. But the emergence of Bellerin at the beginning of the 2014/15 season has limited the game time of the 31-year old.
French Ligue 1 side, Bordeaux took Debuchy on loan for the second half of last season and so far this term, he has not featured for Arsenal in all of their three Premier League games.
AS Roma and Juventus are said to be interested in Debuchy, but if a move to any of the Italian sides does not materialise, the Frenchman could move elsewhere before next Wednesday.
Arsenal earned their first their first three points of the current campaign on Saturday, after romping to a 3-1 victory against Watford.
