If reports from the German media today is anything to go by, then Arsenal will in a matter of days complete the signing of Mario Gotze from Bayern Munich. Earlier reports last month had indicated that Wenger has identified the former Dortmund star as a potential signing this summer and he is ready to do what it takes to get the Germany world cup hero.
Gotze is reportedly seeing as an upgrade on Theo Walcott and with Bayern Munich signing Renato Sanches, Gotze is no longer needed by the Bavarians. Although Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United have all been linked with his signing, reports claim the player prefers a move to a club playing in the Champions Legaue. Reports today however claim Arsenal have had a bid accepted by Bayern Munich for the player.
The Gunners having had a bid accepted are said to have been given the go ahead to talk to the player after the euros and should both Arsenal and Gotze be able to come to an agreement on personal terms, he will undergo a medical and if successful, he will become a Gunner.
This is certainly good news for Arsenal fans if true. Signing Gotze will give Arsenal options in attack, in the midfield and on both wings. His versatility will be useful to us when there are injuries.
