London giant Arsenal are set to trigger £34.2m release clause of Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette reports the Telegraph.
Arsenal manger Arsene Wenger is hell bent to sign a good striker this summer transfer windor, ahead of the forth coming season following the clubs failure last season and having failed to secure the signature of England international and Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy. The French international has enjoyed couple of seasons at the French club, scoring 23 times for Ligue 1 side Lyon in all competition last season.
With England striker Danny Welbeck ruled out of action until next year March, and the uncertain future of England international Theo Walcott, it is undoubtedly certain that Wenger will sign a good striker against next season.
According to Telegraph, Arsenal is set to activate the release clause in the French man’s Lyon contract, valued at €40m, as the Gunners look to lure him finally to North London to strengthen his attacking options.
The 25-year-old forward scored 23 goals in 44 games last season, but still missed out on France’s Euro 2016 squad.
The prolific striker has also attracted interest from PSG and Atletico Madrid, but Arsenal is thought to be in pole position to secure his signature.
