Super-agent Jon Smith has claimed that Mesut Ozil will sign a new contract with Arsenal and that Alexis Sanchez does not want to leave the club.
Smith, who has represented the likes of Argentina great Diego Maradona during his time as an agent, believes the duo will stay at the Premier League giants.
Ozil and Sanchez are key members of the Arsenal first team, but their contracts at the club run out in 2018, which has seen speculation mount about their future in north London.
Many reports in the media have linked the highly-rated duo away from the club with the likes of Manchester City and the Chinese Super League touted as potential buyers.
However, super-agent Smith, who is an Arsenal fan, delivered his verdict on the attacking duo in an interview with a fan channel on Youtube.
“I think Ozil will sign,” Smith told Arsenal Fan TV “I think he is in a good place in terms of where the negotiations are from what I understand.
“Sanchez is interesting, I don’t think he wants to go. That is not to say he won’t, the £400,000 that may or may not be in China is a big call because it’s a different lifestyle, a different league and it is distant.”
German World Cup winner Ozil has played 23 Premier League and Champions League games for the Gunners this season, scoring nine goals and supplying seven assists.
However, the playmaker has come under criticism for his performances this term, in particular during the 2-1 loss against title rivals Manchester City.
By contrast, two-time Copa America winner Sanchez has been in scintillating form this term, scoring 14 goals in all competitions, including providing 12 assists.
The Chilean’s best display this season came in the Premier League against London rivals West Ham where he hit a stunning hat-trick.
As a result, the Gunners are fourth in the league table, nine points behind leaders Chelsea and one point and place ahead of north London rivals Tottenham.
In other Arsenal transfer news, this contract rebel wants the same terms as his teammate Hector Bellerin.
