Arsenal are interested in signing Yannick Ferreira Carrasco from Atletico Madrid but face competition from PSG, Bayern Munich and Chelsea, according to The Sun.

Carrasco is being tipped to leave Diego Simeone’s side this summer after reportedly falling out with the Argentine.

The Belgium international is expected to cost around £40m which leaves him in reach of Arsenal, Chelsea and PSG although Bayern Munich may need to sell Douglas Costa first.

Carrasco enjoyed a fine start to the season and has already scored 10 goals but his form has dipped over recent months and his relationship with his coach is believed to have deteriorated.

The 23-year-old reacted angrily to being substituted against Alaves last month, kicking a water bottle after coming off which has sparked rumours of an exit.

Simeone has sought to play down speculation insisting he is happy if players are angry when they are taken off but has also warned Carrasco he needs to improve.

Carrasco only signed a new deal with the club back in October, tying him to Atletico until 2022, while the club are still operating a transfer ban and, as it stands, are unable to sign any new players until January 2018.

Star striker Antoine Griezmann has been heavily linked with a move away this summer, but if Atleti’s transfer ban remains it is highly unlikely they will allow both men to leave if they are unable to sign replacements.

If Atleti are willing to sell Carrasco he could be a good option but Arsenal’s priority but surely remain keeping hold of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.
