Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to wish Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all the best after the midfielder completed his transfer to Liverpool from Arsenal on Thursday.
The 24-year-old midfielder was officially unveiled as a Liverpool player on Thursday after he was heavily linked with a transfer to Anfield.
Oxlade-Chamberlain leaves Arsenal after having spent six years with the Gunners and winning three FA Cup titles.
The England star has played alongside Ozil for the last three seasons following the German’s arrival from Real Madrid back in 2013.
And the Arsenal playmaker had a special message for his former team-mate on social media after the transfer was finally confirmed on Thursday.
Ozil posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “You’ve always been a good friend on and off the pitch. You will be missed in North London Bro 👊🏼 @alexoxchamberlain.”
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will sign any new players before the transfer window drops shut at 23:00 BST tonight.
Both Oxlade-Chamberlain and Ozil were criticised for their performances as Arsenal slumped to a humiliating 4-0 loss to Liverpool in the Premier League at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
Ozil will be hoping to feature for Arsenal when the Gunners take on Bournemouth in the Premier League in their next game after the international break on Saturday 9 September.
