Arsene Wenger has secured another deal with only a few days remaining in the January transfer window.
It appears the Arsenal manager’s priority during this month is to retain the services of his best players more so than spending in the transfer market.
The Gunners have confirmed new deals for several players over the past week with the likes of Francis Coquelin, Olivier Giroud, Laurent Kosicelny and Per Mertesacker all signing contract extensions.
And while the most valuable players of all, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, are yet to put pen to paper on their own deals, another key player has joined the list of stars who have recommitted their future to the club.
According to various reports and a leaked document by the Football Association, Santi Cazorla has signed a contract extension with Arsenal.
The Spaniard, who currently earns around £90,000 per week in wages, is still struggling to recover after undergoing knee surgery in December.
However, Cazorla’s reliable performances when fit appears to have convinced Wenger to reward him with a new one-year deal.
Arsenal are expected to make an official announcement about the deal for the 32-year-old within the next couple of days.
