Arsenal are in negotiations to make another signing before Wednesday’s transfer deadline, with reports saying the Gunners are considering a late swoop for Lanus’ Miguel Almiron.
This is according to Tuttomercatoweb per The Daily Star – who claim despite Arséne Wenger saying Arsenal will not be welcoming any new face following the arrivals of Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez – the Gunners still want to make Almiron their fourth major signing of the summer, after Granit Xhaka, Mustafi and Perez.
Wenger said, in his post-Watford press conference on Saturday, that his side are on the verge of completing the transfers of centre-back, Mustafi and striker, Perez – and only paperwork needs to be finalised as both players have completed medical checks.
Talks are currently ongoing between Arsenal and Lanus for Almiron and it is said the Gunners have tabled a £9.4m bid for the Paraguay international, but the Argentina outfit want a fee of around £11m for their player.
Almiron joined Lanus from Paraguayan outfit Club Cerro Porteno last summer. The 22-year old had come through the youth ranks before breaking into Cerro’s senior set-up in 2013.
