Arsenal’s Serge Gnabry could be set for a season-long loan move to the Bundesliga after Hertha Berlin confirmed their interest in signing the winger.
Gnabry, who helped his country Germany defeat Nigeria last night to advance into the finals of the men’s football in the Rio Olympics, has courted interests from several European sides and it seems Hertha Berlin will be the player’s likely destination. The attacker has bagged 6 goals for Germany and his sterling performances have helped his nation advance into the finals where they will face Brazil.
Now, Hertha Berlin’s manager Pal Dardai has confirmed his interest in signing the 21-year old. “Serge meets exactly our search parameters. Let’s see what will happen in the next couple of days”, he told German newspaper Bild.
Gnabry broke into the Gunners first team in 2013 but has struggled to nail down a starting place in the team. The German attacker has made only 10 appearances for Arsenal and he was sent on loan to West Bromwich Albion last season but, the loan deal was cut short in January due to a lack of first team action.
The player’s current contract at Arsenal ends at the end of this season and should the loan move to the BuLi side materialise, Gnabry will hope to garner enough game time in order to impress Arsene Wenger and show he still has an Arsenal future.
