With less than 48 hours for this summer transfer window to slam shut, Arsenal are still in the market for a new midfielder – contrary to Arséne Wenger’s statement. Or could it be because Jack Wilshere has been made available for a loan move?
The latest report from Transfer Market Web is the Gunners and Juventus are set to go head-to-head for the signature of Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.
As at yesterday, the claims were Arsenal and Chelsea are the only clubs interested in Brozovic, but things seem to have change.
Brozovic has put in a number of industrious displays for Inter since joining the Nerrazurris from Dinamo Zagreb. But the arrival of Frank de Boer as boss has led to a major overhaul of the squad. The Netherlands legend has brought in Joao Mario, Antonio Candreva and Ever Banega this summer, meaning he is ready to let Brozovic leave.
It is claimed Inter want to regain some of the money spent to bring in the aforementioned signings and, the Croatia international has enough suitors.
Arsenal are, as per the report, interested in Brozovic and are ready to launch a bid for the box-to-box midfielder, whom Wenger is a huge admirer of. Meanwhile, Juventus also want the midfielder and the race to land him could unfold in the next 48 hours.
Nevertheless, the Gunners have a better chance of signing Brozovic, as Inter reportedly do not want to strengthen their rivals.
