Inter Milan goal poacher Mauro Icardi and his wife – who also doubles as his agent – Wanda Nara – are due in London for talks with Arsenal and London rivals, Chelsea, as per the Italian media.
This comes days after Napoli reportedly offered Inter €70m for their star striker. And for the umpteenth time, it appears the media are just recycling old stories.
Icardi has always stated he wants to remain at Inter and the Serie A giants, too, want to keep him, but his wife seems to suggest the Italian outfit can not afford to keep him. She seems to be the main person – as expected of most agents – plotting the move.
However, it is not really clear whether Icardi will be joining Arsenal before the close of the summer transfer window, as boss Arsene Wenger’s focus for now is reportedly on signing one or two defenders.
The 23-year old Argentina international wants an improved contract at the San Siro, and if reports that Inter’s new boss Frank de Boer has offered him a £5m-a-year deal are true, Icardi could stay put.
Meanwhile, it could be that Wanda Nara’s recent trips to London isn’t anything to do with her husband.
