ARSENAL are reportedly ready to pay Alexis Sanchez a cool £275,000 a week to stay put.
The Chile international has been heavily tipped to make a summer move having entered the final 12 months of his current Gunners contract.
And he poured fuel on the fire during a visit to his homeland over the weekend by revealing he wants to play in the Champions League next season.
Sanchez said: “My idea is to play and win the Champions League, it is a dream I have had since I was little.
“The truth is that the decision doesn’t depend on me. I have made my decision, but now we wait for a response from Arsenal. It depends on them, I have to wait to know what they want.”
Arsenal are desperate to keep hold of the 28-year-old as they look to book a return to Europe’s top club competition for the 2018/19 campaign though.
And The Sun reckon Emirates chiefs are prepared to sanction a new £275,000-a-week deal to stave off the threat of a switch to a domestic rival.
Arsene Wenger is apparently hopeful that Sanchez will sign on the dotted line and remain in north London, despite strong, prolonged interest from Manchester City.
And the Frenchman is said to believe Arsenal’s location could hold the key – with Sanchez thought to extremely happy with life in the capital.
The former Barcelona star is due to link up with his team-mates on July 30 after his post-Confederations Cup break draws to a close.
And Wenger will speak to Sanchez then in a bid to convince him to extend his Arsenal stay beyond next June.
