German wing wizard Serge Gnabry wants to leave Arsenal on loan once again before the transfer window is declared close, but manager Arsene Wenger wants him to pen a new deal before making a move.
Sky Sources understand that Wenger does not want Gnabry to leave without signing a contract extension, amid interest from Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin, who are expecting to find out soon if their loan request has been accepted.
Gnabry, 21, penned a new five-year deal at Arsenal which is expected to run out in 2013 and is currently representing his country Germany at the ongoing Rio Olympics in Brazil. He has also featured for Germany at every youth level from U-16 to U-21.
Having joined the Gunners as a 16-year old in 2011 from Stuttgart, Gnabry has made 18 appearances for the North London side, including five Premier League starts. He spent a portion of last season on loan at West Bromwich Albion as the season-long loan deal was cut short in January due to lack of game opportunities.
Gnabry’s last appearance for the Gunners was in 2014 – a Champions League round of 16 defeat to the Bavarian giants.
