While everyone is focused linking Arsenal to the signing of the likes of Lukaku, Morata, Lacazette and Icardi, Arsenal seems to have secretly moved to agree a deal with Real Madrid for the signature of Karim Benzema. According a report by highly reliable Spaniard media outlet El Confidencial, Real Madrid and Arsenal have agreed a deal for €35 and the former Olympic Lyon player will become an Arsenal player in days.
Real Madrid only recently rejected a €60m bid from Chelsea for the signature of Alvaro Morata which is a big indication that Los Blancos will not consider selling Benzema for any amount, at least not this summer. And with Morata set to stay and he having already made it clear he will not be happy with a role as a second choice, Madrid have made the bold step of getting rid of Benzema.
Madrid’s lost will be Arsenal’s gain. Although the former France international has been emboiled in so many off field troubles in recent time, he still managed to bag in 28 goals in the La Liga last season which is not a small feat. His signing will give Arsenal a massive boost and his understanding with Mesut Ozil will make Arsenal a danger team to play once again.
