Arsenal now have an opportunity to sign the Argentine they failed to sign four years ago. Arsenal has reportedly rekindled their interest in the former Real Madrid striker this summer with reports claiming the deal has been accepted by Napoli.
The Argentine is still contracted with Serie A club Napoli till 2018 and is believed to have a €94m release clause on his contract. The striker who recently rejected a contract extension offer at Napoli is set for a move to the Premier league, as his brother recently said that the Argentine striker wants to move elsewhere.
It is believed that the gunners are reluctant to pay the huge figure straightaway rather they are looking at the possibility of including Oliver Giroud in the deal.
Arsenal is set to offer €50m plus Olivier Giroud to tempt Napoli to agree to a deal for Higuain, according to Calciomercato.
Failure to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid could have made Arsenal decide to make a formal offer for Higuain. Morata only returned to Real Madrid last month from Serie A champions Juventus after Real activated his €30m buy-back clause.
