Arsenal are reported to be closing in on the signing of Aleksandr Golovin, a promised Russian midfielder who is contracted with CSKA Moscow until 2021. Reports in Russia claim the player’s agent is finalizing his client’s move to the Emirates Stadium adding that the Gunners will invest € 12 million to seal the transfer of the 21-year-old.
Golovin can either play as central midfielder or right winger. His future will be decided after the summer training camp when Wenger will have a chance to watch him in action.
Golovin could be loaned out to another European club is the Frenchman believes he’s not starting material yet. CSKA would prefer to keep the player on loan at the club for one more season.
Negotiations between the three parties involved in the deal, however, are close to be finalized. The player’s agent Oleg Artemov has refused to comment reports linking his client to a move to Arsenal. Golovin has three goals and four assists in 37 appearances in all competitions this season.
