With two major signings made so far this summer, Arsenal are said to still be very much activate in the transfer market and according to a yesterday Arsenal are close to sealing a deal for Poland international goal keeper Wojciech Szczesny to join Italian Serie A side AS Roma for £15million.
Szczesny, 26, spent last season on loan in Italy with Roma, maning the post 34 times under both Rudi Garcia and Luciano Spalletti as Roma finished third on the Log.
The Poland international goal keeper won’t be returning to Arsenal as he is in advanced talks to sign on at Roma for a fee in the region of £15million claimed The Express.
The Italian club is keen to make the deal a reality, with Italian media outfit Gazza Mercato stating that talks between both parties are taking place on Monday.
His return back to the Arsenal side has been blocked by former Chelsea goal tender Petr Cech, with Arsenal manger Arsene Wenger expected to stick with the veteran Czech goalkeeper as his number one next season.
The Polish goal keeper has publicly announced his desire to join AS Roma permanently and has praised the coaching of Spalletti’s staff as better when compared to that of the Arsenal backroom team.
The Goal keeper was included in Poland’s Euro 2016 squad but made only one appearance after falling down the pecking order behind former club teammate Lukasz Fabianski.
