According to Klaus Allofs, the Wolfsburg Sporting Director, North London club Arsenal is likely to revive their interest in German international midfielder Julian Draxler.
It will be recalled that the Gunners tried to lure Draxler from German club Schalke to the Emirate stadium in January 2014 but were unable to agree a fee with Schalke.
The 22 year old attacker later joined his current club Wolfsburg last summer to replace Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne.
At the moment, the Emirate club is hell bent to strengthen their attacking line, this summer transfer window, and have already suffered a setback in their attempt to lure England international striker Jamie Vardy from Leicester.
With England international Danny Welbeck ruled out until January next year at the earliest with a cruciate knee ligament injury, and French striker Olivier Giroud’s agent quoted as claiming his client is tempted by the possibility of a transfer to Napoli.
The Wolfsburg Sporting Director, meanwhile, tried but failed to keep De Bruyne and Ivan Perisic at the club last summer transfer window, and now fears that the Gunners, who are also believed to be interested in Wolfsburg’s Ricardo Rodriguez, will once again attempt to sign Draxler.
German tabloid Bild has reported that the German club would listen to offers in the region of £55 million for the Germany international, despite being contracted to Wolfsburg until 2020.
