Romelu Lukaku has always stated his ambition to play at the highest level in Europe by featuring in the Uefa Champions League. But with Everton missing out on the top 4 spot in the Premier League, it looked almost certain that Lukaku was ready to consider his options.
North London club Arsenal are currently considering to booster their striking options with Welbeck picking up a 9 months injury, leaving Giroud as the only marksman for the gunners. Wenger has set his sight on Belgium and Everton’s 23 year old forward as an ideal fit to add more firepower to the Arsenal side. Striker Lukaku has been in fine form for the Toffees last season, scoring 25 goals in all competitions.
Everton’s fortune recently changed with sugar daddy investor (Farhad Moshiri’s) handing a huge transfer fund to new coach Koeman. It seems Lukaku is set to have a change of heart and stick it out with the Toffees for another season because he believes Farhad Moshiri’s arrival at Everton means they can qualify for the elite competition for the first time. Koeman seems keen to keep hold of the want-away forward, who had a brilliant season with Everton last term.
Lukaku might get rewarded with a new deal as Everton are set to open talks this summer over improved terms.
