Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck is reportedly closing in on a return to the Gunners first team, as revealed by the team manager Arsene Wenger.
The England international has not featured for us since May when he injured his knee in our 2-2 draw against Manchester City at the Emirates.
The problem also kept the star out of the 2016 European Championship held in France and has seen him out of our fixtures so far this season.
But Wenger says Welbeck is now on the cusp of returning to full training – although the manager warned that his comeback will not be a quick process.
He said: “Danny Welbeck is one week away from completing normal training to be back in the squad.
“But again that will take some time because he hasn’t played for a long, long time.”
