News development from the German media tonight have it that Arsenal have had a bid accepted by Bayern Munich for the signature of Mario Gotze who has constantly been linked with moves to Arsenal. The former Dortmund player has been very vocal in voicing his unhappiness at the lack of playing time at Bayern Munich. Initial reports had claimed he was ready to stay at the club and fight for his place in the first team under incoming manager Carlo Ancelotti.
However, development this night is that Bayern Munich has told the player he can leave this summer as they are no longer in need of his services after signing Renato Sanches from Benfica. Arsenal have taken advantage of this and tabled a big of £30 million for the player which has now been accepted by Bayern Munich.
This news if true means Gotze will undergo a medical at Arsenal at the end of the European Championship in France where is representing France. And should Gotze join Arsenal, he will likely replace Theo Walcott on the right wing which means there is still a real chance of Walcott been sold and Iwobi becoming the understudy to Mario Gotze. Walcott has been linked with moves to West Ham, his former club Southampton and Leicester City.
