Morata is one of the few strikers available for Arsenal to sign this summer. However, Arsenal will not have a free run to the signing of the Spaniard. Report indicates West London club Chelsea are leading London rivals Arsenal in the race to sign Real Madrid and Spain striker Alvaro Morata. The Spaniard officially returned to Real Madrid from Juventus.
Arsene Wenger is believe to be desperate to sign a new striker with players like Morata, Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette and Everton forward Romelu Lukaku all linked to the Emirate club.
Morata, 23, scored 27 goals in 93 matches for Juventus after moving to Turin in the summer of 2014, but the reigning European champions have triggered their buy back option.
According to Juventus’ official website read: “All associated with Juventus Football Club would like to wish Alvaro the very best of luck wherever his future may take him and thank him for two truly excellent years of service to the team.”
The striker who scored three goals at the on-going European championship have been linked with an instant move from Real Madrid to the English Premier League, with London clubs Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United all interested.
The Bernabeu club is interested in making huge profit on the striker that they resigned from Juventus last month. Reports indicate the player has said he would be glad to stay and battle for his place at Real Madrid, if they decided to keep him at the club.
Should Real Madrid decide to sell, reports state that Morata would prefer to sign for London club Chelsea due to the influence of incoming boss Antonio Conte.
