Jon Toral will arrive in Glasgow this evening to put pen to paper on a six month deal at Rangers.
Record Sport understands the 21-year-old will fly in from Malaga in the next few hours after an agreement was reached to terminate his season long loan with Spanish minnows Granada.
The La Liga strugglers announced earlier today that Toral will be returning to Arsenal after his parent club activated an early release clause in the agreement.
But, in fact, Toral headed straight to the airport to catch the next available flight to Scotland after Mark Warburton and Arsene Wenger agreed that the next stage of the player’s development will be best served with a short stint at Ibrox.
Record Sport revealed exclusively last week that Toral had shot to the top of Warburton’s January wish list.
The Rangers boss clinched a similar short term deal to loan Emerson Hyndman from Bournemouth yesterday to beef up his midfield options. But Toral remains his priority top target and the Spaniard should be paraded tomorrow before joining the Rangers travelling party for this weekend’s friendly against Germans Liepzig.
