Gunner’s Chief has reported Danny Welbeck is ahead of schedule in his reappearance from a serious wound to his right leg.
England’s striker hasn’t played since supporting significant cartilage injury in a 2-2 draw at Manchester City in May.
He underwent surgery on the problem at the back end of last campaign which was expected to retain him suspended for nine months.
Wenger expects the 25 year old to be returned in few weeks but knows it will take him time to get back to his good form.
“He’s ahead of schedule and he’ll be back earlier in January. It will take one month competition for him to get back to his best,” Arsenal Boss said.
Wenger also said he is pleased with his team’s current injury situation, with players picking up fewer muscle injuries than in previous seasons.
