Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is set to fly to Italy within days to sign for Juventus, according to reliable journalist Gianluca di Marzio.
Di Marzio, a reporter for Sky Sports Italy, revealed on his personal website that the 27-year-old would pack his bags and arrive at the Serie A club next week to finalise a transfer to the club.
The journalist stated on his website that, once the transfer was completed next week, the 29-cap Polish international would be made available for the US tour alongside the rest of the Juventus squad.
This reports follows a recent story in The Sun which claimed that the Arsenal stopper was left out of the Gunners’ pre-season tour of Australia and China in order to complete a move to the Serie A outfit.
Szczesny looks set to depart from the Emirates after dropping down in Arsene Wenger’s pecking order behind Petr Cech and David Ospina.
Since joining the north London club in 2008, the Poland international became a key contributor within the first team and made a total of 181 appearances for the Gunners with 72 cleans sheets under his belt across all competitions.
However, the keeper hasn’t been in the Arsenal goal since the beginning of January back in 2015, after he was caught smoking in the dressing room showers following a 2-0 defeat to Southampton.
The Pole moved on to join Roma in a two-year loan-deal in 2015 before arriving back in London this summer.
Szczesny has just 12 months remaining on his contract with the FA Cup winners and it appears that Wenger will offload the keeper to Juventus rather than lose him for free next summer.
