According to Sky Sources, Arsenal has reached an agreement with English championship side Newcastle to let go of their youngster Isaac Hayden.
The youngster came through the youth ranks at Arsenal and has had various successful loan spells. The versatile defender can play at centre half or defensive midfielder position but it looks like Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has decided that his future does not lay at the Emirate stadium.
The 21-year-old defender is expected to sign a 5-year contract with Newcastle after the Gunners accepted a bid of about £2.5million.
Hayden played in a couple of league cup matches for Arsenal but couldn’t feature for the first team in the Premier League. He showed quality during his loan spell at Hull City last season despite being in and out of the team. He is a young prospect with great potentials for Newcastle.
His good control of the ball saw him move from centre back in his early days at the London club, to more defensive midfielder role. He has a bit of former Gunner Alex Song in him.
One aspect of his game he needs to work on is his position, that will probably be in midfield, including his range of passing and perhaps composure.
