Arsenal are obviously in the market for another centre back hence the various links to different highly rated centre backs. But if you believe a reported by the usually very reliable Skysports, Arsenal are set to lose out on one of their main centre backs targets for this summer transfer window.
Reports earlier yesterday had claimed Arsenal have entered the race to sign Neven Subotic from Dortmund. The player had reportedly told Dortmund he would be leaving the club this summer and the German club according to reports have told him he can leave should the right offer be made.
Arsenal were thought to be the forerunners for his signature but according to Skysports, the player is currently in England but not to talk to Arsenal, he is reportedly talking to Middesbrough. The Teesside club has already had a bid accepted for the player and all that is left is for the player to agree to the deal.
Subotic is said to have been shown around Boro’s facilities and has been left impressed. Sunderland have also been linked with the signing of the player and unless Arsenal move quickly, the player will be added to the list of targets that Arsenal have failed to sign this summer.
Skysports reckons the player will be available for as cheap as £8m which is another reason why Arsenal have to move quickly.
