Serie A side Juventus have met with Medhi Benatia’s agent over a possible January exit, with the Serie A champions demanding around €10m to complete a sale, according to reports in Italy.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Juventus held a ‘summit’ with Benatia’s entourage to try and sort out the player’s future. They reportedly agreed that a move was a possibility in January, but the Italian side are only willing to sell for a ‘reasonable offer’.

The Gunners and Fulham, as well as clubs from China, the UAE and Qatar have all been in contact over a move. According to Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia (via Football-Italia), Juventus would consider letting the player go for €10m.

The problem is that Arsenal have made it pretty clear that they aren’t planning any permanent transfers in the winter window. Their interest in Benatia is presumably for a loan move, which Juventus are unlikely to be open to.

As previously suggested in Italy, the solution could be to bring forward the date of Ramsey’s departure.

If Juventus would only let Benatia leave for €10m (£8.72m), and Arsenal are looking for around £10m to sell their midfielder early, the valuations really aren’t too far apart.

We’ll see if a swap deal appeals to Unai Emery and The Gunners’ transfer team.
