Rumours have began to spread again, but this time about Mesut Ozil signs a new contract extension with the club, in which Mohamed Elneny seemed to have confirmed.
The contract, which is set to expire in 2021 had been signed, something Arsenal denied, close sources to Arsenal board leaked that the deal was very close.
Now, Elneny being himself have now sincerely confirmed the news that every Arsenal fan wants to hear, that Ozil will be staying put with the Gunners at north London for another three years.
“I spoke to Mesut and he told me that he signed the new contract. He is a world class player on & off the pitch,” the Egyptian midfielder told BeIN Sports.
“He is a vital player for us and there is always a positive aura surrounding him.”
Like Alexis Sanchez, Ozil’s current contract was due to expire in the summer and many expected the 29-year-old to follow Sanchez out of the Emirates exit doors.
The playmaker has always maintained he is happy in London but it was known that many of Europe’s top club were keeping tabs on his contract situation.
SportBild claim that the attacker turned down interest from Manchester United, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain to stay at the Emirates.
