Lanus midfielder Miguel Almirón could be Arsenal’s third late-summer swoop, as the Gunners are reportedly lining up a move for the £11m-rated player, according to The Metro.
Arsenal – who have been silent for most parts of the transfer window – have had a busy end to the summer with the late transfers of Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez. Now, they hope to add Almirón to their ranks as they look to win the Premier League title this term.
Almirón made his debut for Paraguay at the Copa America this summer and the attacking midfielder’s performances could now earn him a move to one of the biggest leagues in Europe.
Although the Gunners have enough options in midfield, but they are stepping up their interest in Almirón due to the impending departure of Jack Wilshere on loan.
Almirón is certainly not the marquee signing Arsenal faithful are looking forward to see, but boss Arséne Wenger has an outstanding record of spotting budding talents and turning them into world beaters.
Arsenal finally secured their first three points of the Premier League campaign, after seeing off Watford by 3 goals to 1 at Vicarage Road. The addition of Mustafi and Perez will go a long way to bolster their squad and help them win the title.
