There are claims Valencia defender will soon be an Arsenal player, as the German is due for medicals in London on Monday.
One of those is that of The Daily Star [per Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli]. The report suggests a deal has now been agreed in principle between Arsenal and Valencia for the transfer of Mustafi and barring any issues with medicals, the official announcement is just days away.
Meanwhile, The Telegraph also share the same view, but they quote a fee of £29.5m whilst also saying Arsenal are looking at West Bromwich Albion defender Johnny Evans. The above named broadsheet suggests the former Manchester United centre-back is free to make the move, going by the comment of The Baggies boss Tony Pulis.
“You dont want to lose your best players, but in football sometimes that happens. If it does happens, you need to make sure you know where your replacements are. If Arsenal come in for Johnny, if we do any business we’ll do it between the clubs. I wouldn’t talk here about doing a deal with Arsenal or anybody else. The most important thing is Johnny is with us and we want him to stay because he is an outstanding player” [Telegraph].
Arsenal have also inquired about the availability of Atletico Madrid defender Jose Gimenez, who reportedly has a €65m release clause.
