According to reports in Germany, Arsenal have lodged a £12million bid to sign Neven Subotic in the summer transfer window which has been reportedly accepted by Dortmund though the player is still considering his options but will certainly be leaving Dortmund this summer.
Neven Subotic is edging closer to a move away from German side Borussia Dortmund after he was allowed to sit out Thursday’s training session in order to hold talks with another club.
The 27-year-old Subotic has played 258 games for his German side Borussia Dortmund since making his debut for the German side back in 2008, but announced last month that he’s set to move on ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.
He said, ‘I do not want to earn my money on the bench, but to be a active part of the history like I was until last year.’
Following the Subotic’s revelation, the Gunners have tabled a £12m offer to sign the Serbia international, with Arsene Wenger searching for defensive reinforcements according Express.
It’s believed that Premier League club Liverpool and Everton are also interested in signing the centre-back this summer.
It is important that Arsenal sign such an experienced defender to take over the baton from Per Mertesacker who will be 32 years of age and Gabriel who doesn’t seem good enough.
