The Gunners have been relatively inactive in the transfer market, bringing in Cohen Bramall who will not be featuring for the first team.
No player has been sold this month either but that could still change with Mathieu Debuchy seeking an end to his career at Arsenal, two years after his $15.1 million move from Newcastle.
According to Wenger, he “did not close the door” on the possibility of the Frenchman leaving due to the number of options he now has in the right-back position.
“It has gone quiet because I didn’t close the door [on a transfer move] because there’s a lot of competition on the right flank.” the Arsenal manager said at his press-conference
“Now Gabriel has been convincing on the right side as well, so I don’t close the door.”
After spending a few more weeks on the sidelines following a hamstring injury in November, Debuchy is now back in action.
“What I just want to say is that he’s fully fit now and so he is available to play and maybe even to have an experience somewhere else.” Wenger added
