Bayern Munich midfielder Xabi Alonso has sustained a knee injury during the club training at Allianz Arena just two days before their Championship League clash against Arsenal.
Alonso was unable to see the end of the training on Monday as he was carried off the training ground halfway into the training session and he looked to be in a lot of pain.
The 35-year-old is now a doubt for our Champions League last-16 first leg tie at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night, which will come as a real concern to Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti.
As at now, it is uncertain if the 35-year-old would be participating in the match on Wednesday but result of the medical test carried out on him, when released, would clarify the issue.
However, it would go a long way in boosting Arsenal’s morale if Alonso is declared unfit as he’s one of Munich’s major player having featured in 23 games so far this season.
Bayern would be without 3 key players with Frank Ribery and Jerome Boateng are also carrying injuries.
Arsenal also has injury concerns with Santi Carzorla and Aaron Ramsey unfit but it would be good news for the Gunners squad if Bayern lose Alonso
