According to reports from Italy, Arsenal have had a bid accepted by Inter Milan for highly rated Argentina international striker Mauro Icardi. However, Tottenham are also weighing up a move for the player and will hope to match Arsenal’s offer and let the player decide.
The prolific Argentine striker is being linked with a move to the Emirates as Wenger tries to fortify his strike force having failed in an attempt to lure Jamie Vardy to the Emirates.
As indicated by the Sunday Express, Spurs are setting up a £38m offer to match Arsenal’s initial bid for Icardi. Pochettino is keen about signing a striker this summer as they only have Harry Kane as the reliable striker to call upon for next season.
According to a report by Italian journalist David Amoyal, Tottenham have sent delegates to talk with Icardi, Inter Milan and the player’s agent. Inter have said they do not want to sell the player this summer and have made him their captain, however, it is believed they could be forced to sell him if the player himself chooses to leave them.
It will be interesting to see where the player ends up at between the two London clubs but I hope Arsenal wins the race. Considering he is cheap compared to the other strikers and is very good.
