Arsenal’s on-loan defender Calum Chambers has suffered a stress fracture of his foot, according to a reliable journalist.
The Mail’s north-east based correspondent Craig Hope has reported on his personal Twitter account that Chambers, who is on a season-long loan at Middlesbrough, has suffered a serious injury which typically sidelines players for at least two months.
Hopes explained that “no return date set” but it appears that the 22-year-old England international will be sidelined for a lengthy period.
The loss of Chambers is a major blow for Boro as they attempt to remain in the Premier League.
They have slipped closer to the relegation zone in recent weeks and are currently in 16th place in the English top flight.
Chambers made one appearance for Arsenal on the opening day of the season in a 4-3 defeat to Liverpool before being loaned at to the Riverside for the duration of the season.
