Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool have made enquiries with the representatives of Brazilian free agent Bernard.

The former Shakhtar Donetsk attacker is now without a club after his five-year deal in Ukraine expired.

The Brazilian winger is currently looking at the options he have as he seeks a new challenge.

And a number of clubs across Europe have been linked over potential interest.

West Ham and Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning are said to have made offers to Bernard.

But the most high-profile approaches appear to have come from Premier League big boys Arsenal and Liverpool.

The two English giants have made enquiries, according to Brazilian outlet UOL, with Bernard available on a free transfer.

However, neither Arsenal or Liverpool are said to have followed up their advances with proposals.

It is claimed Bernard had hoped to have attracted more offers from teams playing European football.

Arsenal and Liverpool’s Premier League rivals West Ham cannot offer that after their 13th-place finish last term.

Under new manager Manuel Pellegrini, though, the club are looking to build at the London Stadium.

UOL add Bernard is still considering a move to West Ham, who believe Bernard would be strengthen their attacking options for the new season.

Jiangsu Suning, though, are able to table Bernard a much more lucrative proposal.

Bernard’s compatriots Ramires and Alex Teixeira are already at the club too.

And negotiations over the player’s future are ongoing.
