According to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol, Arsenal are in talks over a potential £6.8m deal to sign K.A.S Eupen striker Henry Onyekuru this summer.
Despite on-going doubts over his future at the club, Arsene Wenger seems to be pressing ahead with his transfer plans and the boss is keen to add to his attacking options with the future’s of Lucas Perez, Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud in doubt.
Many fans have been crying out for a top class hitman to join the club in recent windows but Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol claims we’re in talks to sign relatively unknown Eupen striker Onyekuru.
The journalist doesn’t give an indication as to how far down the road we are in negotiations or how close a deal is but he does reveal that Onyekuru’s release clause is set at £6.8m.
He said on Twitter today:
Arsenal in talks to sign Nigerian striker Henry Onyekuru from Belgian side KAS Eupen. Release clause £6.8m. Top scorer in Belgium

The 19-year-old came through the Aspire Academy in Qatar before joining Eupen in 2015 and he’s just enjoyed an excellent season in Belgium that’s seen him score 24 goals and provide 9 assists.
The Nigerian international has been linked with a number of different clubs but we should have an excellent chance of signing him if we can get a deal agreed as the player recently revealed that his dream is to play for Arsenal.
Onyekuru was quoted by the Express as saying:
“I hope to find myself one day in a top club in Europe and to play for my national team,’
“The shirt I dream of wearing is Arsenal’s because I’ve always had Thierry Henry as a role model since I was little.”
Onyekuru is predominantly a left-sided attacker but he’s also capable of playing on the right or through the middle as a centre-forward so he’d be a useful addition to the squad.
Obviously he’s nowhere near Sanchez’s class so we can’t be viewing him as a potential replacement for our Chilean superstar. Therefore, I think the Nigerian is probably seen as the man to replace Perez as his days at the club look numbered.
